It’s Tenma again! As I walk through the town, I see great bars&sakaba. What on earth is going on in this town? Tenma is jammed with great bars, dude.
Hi, it’s “Drunk Uncle”!
Today I went to “Sake no Okuda” in Tenma, Osaka on my way home from work.
I’ve already been to a few places today, so I’m already staggering. But I’m not done yet! (by Quattro Bajina) So I naturally head to “Sake no Okuda”, a place I must have visited a few years ago. I guess this is the homing instinct of Drunk Uncle…

Just looking at the noren curtain, you can tell that this is a famous bar. I check out the outside sign and exterior as usual. There are two liquor vending machines in front of the bar. If you need more to drink, you can buy some here and gulp down some more!
When accompanying someone, do you think about what to do afterwards? You shouldn’t think about it, so just go inside.

Perhaps because the restaurant is non-smoking, the clientele is younger than at the Ginza-ya I visited earlier, and there seem to be a lot of female customers.
I was intrigued by the display case and the oden pot. As for drinks, I decided to go back to basics and order a chuhai (shochu with sparkling water) for now.

The chuhai arrives. Gulp! It’s a typical shochu highball, just like always. First, I need to quench my thirst… There are menus in front of me for foods, but it’s fun to browse the menu on the wall.
First, I order freeze-dried tofu and fried horse mackerel.

The good stuff arrive. The freeze-dried tofu arrived quickly. I’ve been lacking in vitamins lately, so I need to eat some vegetables… The taste is okay. My vitamins have been replenished.
The horse mackerel fry is small but tastes good. My chuhai is running low at this point, can you guess what the next drink will be…?

Naturally, I chose “Ozeki”, Japanese sake, specifically “Josen” and “cold”. Some say it’s a first-class sake, but in reality it’s probably second-class. That’s fine and that’s what makes it good…

The surface tension is so smooth, I’m grateful for this… My mouth goes to meet the cup. Gulp! The usual taste, the same taste, this is definitely the one. “Ozeki” lured me in, and I accidentally ordered additional sausages (fried) and boiled oysters.

Both were delicious. The sausages were bursting with flavour, the oysters were delicious and the Ozeki was delicious…
It looked like the bar were about to close, and people were checking the last orders in various places. I had better behave myself before leaving…
It seemed that O-mama(old okamisan), who had been busy running around, was also heading home early at this time; thank you for your hard work today.
The veteran waiter asked me if I wanted anything else. I still had some Ozeki left, and if I wanted to pair it with this, it would have to be that… When I ordered the oden, with daikon radish and egg, I thought the veteran waiter grinned and said, “You know what I’m talking about…” But maybe it was just my imagination.
Although oden is a quick menu item, I saw an object in the store that caught my eye, so I took a picture of it.

There must be a lot of unscrupulous people who touch the ventilation equipment. I can imagine how you feel.
I’d like to issue a warning here from an old man like you..
To all the brothers, sisters and Drunkers, who gather at “Sake no Okuda”… I don’t thinkt they like it. I’m a man too, so I can understand the desire to get along with “the ventilation equipment”, but if you touch it again, you’ll be banned for life. Think about how you’re playing…
If anything, you should just limit your play to oden…

The oden arrives. It’s almost closing time, so of course it’s full of flavor… First, the daikon radish is served with “Ozeki”, then the egg… Of course, you have to crack the egg right open. You should learn how to play like this soon.
Gulp! I gulp down the last Ozeki, pay the bill, and leave the bar.
I hadn’t thought about what to do afterwards at all…
But I still have two or three more bars to explore before I can go back to my country, but I’m pretty close to ascending to heaven anyway…
