After staggering around, I finally arrived at the oasis for Drunk Uncle…
Should I chill for a bit before moving on?

Hi, it’s “Drunk Uncle”!

Today I went to “Akazu Kinga 3 Building” in Umeda on my way home from work.

Tenma is a hot area for the first time in a while, the front line of the bar wars. I’ve already been to three bars and entered dangerous waters, which means I’m close to ascending to heaven.
Just like the original Takeshita Street in Harajuku, the place was jammed with famous bars that were like the talent shops of the 80s… I’ve nominated all the bars in my top 100 for Drunk Uncle. It was worth the effort of infiltrating even though it strained my weakened liver…

But alcohol! I can’t help but drink, I’m not done yet…
I could continue digging in Tenma, but being the greedy Drunk Uncle that I am, I need to mark other areas to deepen my knowledge of the Osaka Yoidore community… (it’s still too early for the house).
Tonight’s final destination is in the direction of Fukushima, and although it’s a little off from Tenma, I’m about to head there…

Get on the train and hurry, you say? The more drunk you are, the more you stick to the basics of the Drunk Road. The more you’re in a pinch, the slower you walk, right? Move using your feet while feeling the real atmosphere of the streets… This is “Yoidore Tourism”, which has become a hot topic worldwide recently.
On the way to Umeda, there’s a huge gathering of thugs, badass, touts, and pimps, it’s like an all-star Thanksgiving festival, so good kids should definitely stay away. Well, shall we go…?

Roughly speaking, it was a 30-minute walk from east to west. Can I show you some snapshots I took along the way?

First, there’s Super Tamade, the most scary local supermarket in Osaka, characterized by its famous flashy exterior. I don’t know about the quality of the things they sell, but they’re super cheap and have a wide selection of alcohol, so it’s a “must stop by” place for Osaka Drunk Uncles.

When you get off the Shinkansen at Shin-Osaka, the first place you should head to is not “551” or “Uncle Rikuro”, but “Super Tamade”. Check it out!! (Aida Hikoichi style)

By the way, Tamade seems to have seven stores in Nishinari Ward, and Drunk Uncle’s recommendation is definitely the “Tengachaya store”. It’s located in a geographically important location as the midpoint of the adult social studies field trip from Nishinari Airin District to Tobita Shinchi, and the customer base is hardcore, so I think it’s no exaggeration to say that it’s Tamade’s flagship store.

Next, I found a mysterious vending machine. There seem to be all sorts of possibilities, from “It comes out…!” “Something comes out!” to “Whoever puts it in wins!”, but I wonder what will come out…

I have lots of other secret photos, but I can’t show you any more here… There are so many stores where desire is beckoning like a maneki-neko, and it feels like you’re going to commit double suicide at Sonezaki by accident… A gentleman should stay away from danger, and danger is dangerous…

The air on the streets along the way was filled with the distinctive smell of a downtown area, but it was more like that of a zoo than the scent of a sanctuary forest…

Once you leave the zoo area, you’ll emerge under the buildings of Umeda. It must be an office district during the day, but there are few people on the ground. This area, like many others, seems to be undergoing redevelopment at an incredible speed, perhaps due to the changing times.

According to sources, the hottest spot is the “Umeda Ekimae Building,” which has a similar feel to the New Shinbashi Building or Pio City in Sakuragicho. As a Drunk Uncle who has made a name for himself as the “Don Juan of Michinoku” (self-proclaimed), I prefer the “Apollo 1 Building,” even though they are both the same building, but I’ll save that for another time…

Once inside the building, there do seem to be a lot of restaurants, but they’re all crowded with happy-looking couples, groups of thugs, and throngs of reckless salarymen, making it a little difficult to go in.

Of the countless bars, I chose “Akazu Kinga 3 Building” this time. Why? Because the bar was empty just before the last order, and I needed to fill my stomach with some sushi.

The exterior is quite lively, and it seems to have various nicknames, such as “The store where you can’t stop drinking sake” and “The store with delicious sea urchin and salmon roe,” but it was only later that I found out that the official name of the store is “Akazu Kinga 3 Building”…
By the way, because of the uric acid level problem, fish eggs are a no-no.

There is only a counter in the restaurant, high chairs, and it’s long to the back. The master tells me that the last order is near. “Drink quickly and go home” so it’s okay, master, I won’t stay long even though it’s Osaka…

The drinks at the top are pretty normal, but the ones at the bottom are a bit stronger. I’m also interested in the “Dangerous Happy Birthday Highball, which you can’t stop drinking until you say ‘Stop,'” but the only choice here is the “Ultimate Warm Sake (Kuzuryu) that the President drank over 100 bottles of.”

It was delivered in komuso style. I wonder if I could have a chaser. Gulp! I don’t know the brand, but it’s good. Now that I’ve calmed down, it’s time for Otsumami… I’ll order the “3 recommended pieces of sushi that you must try.”

The appetizer was a kind of fish paste, which I don’t really like, but I was grateful. I got some nutrition. And then, the long-awaited “3 recommended pieces of sushi that you must try” – tuna, sea bream, and eel. The sushi was pretty good. I have a poor palate so I can’t really describe it, but it was an indescribable taste. Oh, speaking of sushi, I forgot about the natto roll. If I don’t order this, I’m a phony…

納豆巻きはうめぇんだよな

Natto rolls and warm sake go perfectly together… I thoroughly enjoyed the miraculous marriage of the sticky natto and the lukewarm sake.

I was on the verge of death, but this was supposed to be a water stop. I would have liked to drink a bit more, but the last orders had already been placed, so I reluctantly paid and left the restaurant. I really wasn’t in a position to be reluctant, though…

Osaka Umeda, I might need to play Osaka Summer Campaign to conquer this place… See you again some other day.
