This is a very cool Yakitori restaurant in Maebashi. It’s provisionally ranked number one in the Yoidore 100 Best Yakitori Restaurants category. You’ll be in heaven as soon as you enter, and “Yodore’s new chapter” is upon us.

Hi, it’s “Drunk Uncle”!

Today I went to “Yakitori Sakuma” in Maebashi on my way home from work.

The journey of the Northern Kanto region continues… tonight’s location is Maebashi. Come on, Maebashi is the birthplace of Drunk Uncle. Drunk Uncle was born at Maebashi Red Cross Hospital, swept away by the Tone River, and his whereabouts have been unknown ever since. Today, after about 44 years, Drunk Uncle has returned home for the first time… He doesn’t have any relatives or acquaintances in particular, so there was no flashy banner welcoming him with “Welcome back! Yoidorejisan!”, no bouquet from “Miss Maebashi”, and no performance by the Maebashi Ikuei High School marching band. It was a lonely homecoming… But, since it’s a city I’ll never visit again, I guess I should “wash away my sombre memories with alcohol,” right?

That’s when I got off at Maebashi Station. In the vicinity are Chuo-Maebashi Station, Shin-Maebashi Station, and Maebashi-Oshima Station… Maebashi is jammed. When I got off at Maebashi Station, it seemed like a normal station. Maebashi is the prefectural capital, but Takasaki is No. 1 in the prefecture in terms of population, and the Shinkansen passes through Takasaki Station… I’m at a disadvantage. “Today I feel like going around to a few strong bars💛”, so I’ll take a stroll around Maebashi. Among them, I’ll start with Yakitori Sakuma, the furthest from Maebashi Station.

It seems like it’s about a 25-minute walk from Maebashi Station to today’s site, so maybe I should go…

I found a bronze statue on the way, but I don’t know what it is. If you know, please DM me.

I think it was about halfway, when I saw the lights of Jomo Electric Railway’s “Chuo-Maebashi Station.” It seems there are “sexy clubs” and “girls bars” in front of this station, so it’s a “cheesy” station. Good kids, don’t go near it.

How many minutes on earth should I walk for? I started this story myself, but I was getting a little annoyed. Just as I was getting annoyed, I came across a small river. Hoho… the willows looked great, and I felt like I was in Little Kyoto, which was soothing.

On the way, I snapped a photo of a nice sign. “There’s nothing there when you go home.” I understand. “Just a little bit more,” I thought to myself, and the words “Don’t give up,” just like in the 24-hour TV charity marathon, started ringing in my head… On the way, I “don’t give up” to the desires of a large Philippine pub, and came all the way to “Yakitori Sakuma.” Next time, I’ll take a taxi.

What do you think of this face? The rope curtain is so cool… You can drink just by looking at the face, it’s a “definitely famous restaurant” performance, and even in Bakufu Slump terms, it’s “Tears 2”.

The lanterns are nice too. I have no choice but to go inside!

There are only 10 to 15 seats at the counter. I sat right in the middle…. It has a nice atmosphere. It seems that smoking is allowed at all seats in this restaurant. As I always say, there are no bad people who like to smoke, gamble, or drink…

I’m new to this establishment, but I’ve made up my mind to blend in… Master, can I have some sake, please?

The appetizer is pickles… how bitter. There’s also a lot of smooth sake, thank you. Gulp! So delicious.
The grilled dishes are liver, head, medium fatty tuna, and meatballs, and the flavor is up to you.

While they were grilling, I watched the inside of the store. There were all kinds of objects, all jumbled together. The customers were local office workers. The chef and his wife looked like workers. Slurp! I could drink alcohol with their backs… Here comes the yakitori.

A delicious grilled chicken has arrived. Gulp! It’s the best when paired with Japanese sake. This atmosphere (sorry for the few photos), if you drink sake, you’ll be in heaven.

After drinking for a while, I paid the bill and left the bar. According to my source, there are some crazy stores, so I’ll have to wander around Maebashi at night a bit more.
