This is a long-established izakaya with a homely atmosphere that is not “strong in taste.” It’s great because they serve delicious food, but there are nights when I want to get carried away by a “strong in taste” old man…

Hi, it’s “Drunk Uncle”!

Today I went to “Senmasa” in Maebashi on my way home from work.

Back to Maebashi. It’s not over yet. Today’s location is Sensho, a long-established izakaya in Maebashi. Everything you eat here tastes delicious; it’s a “just plain good” izakaya. Is it okay to say it’s “just plain good”? It’s good once in a while.

Located right in the middle between Maebashi Station and Chuo-Maebashi Station. I like how they’re both really cool.

Anyway, I’ll check out the appearance as usual…

Yes, the signboard is nice. The fish signboard is the highlight. It’s a common thing in bars, but I wonder why there’s no consistency between the main signboard, sub-signboard, and outside signboard.

The noren and the menu outside are nice. It looks good, so shall we go in?

The inside of the store looks like this with counter and table seats. It’s well organized. I’m sure they do a good job.

Let’s choose from the hanging menu, shall we? As for adult drinks…they don’t have Hoppy, so I guess I’ll have a plain chuhai for now.

The drink arrives. And the appetizer. Gulp! Well, this is just normal and delicious. I’ll choose Mami-Tsu… Here, it’s fried tofu, vegetables, and pickled mustard greens with meat. I wait for a while and watch the inside of the store.

I was a little intrigued by the Mitsuo-style poster that read, “Happy, fun, happy, thank you to everyone. Thank you by Hide?” The rest was pretty normal. While I was waiting, the food arrived.

It’s pretty good. It goes well with plain chuhai, but it doesn’t. The stir-fried meat has a lot of vegetables in it, so I’ve gotten my daily vitamin intake. Hmm, the chuhai is a little lacking, so I’d rather have sake, and the local “Akagiyama” sake, right?

It’s so nice to have so much of it. When my mouth rises to pick it up, I gulp it down! Tonight’s good….
The stir-fried meat is somehow tasty…I’m starting to think it would go well with sake….
I pay the bill and leave the restaurant.

So far, this has turned into just a report, but the food was good and the sake was good too.
It’s not a strong-flavored dish, so you can feel at ease even at first glance.

But…I’m starting to want something a little stronger…
