A stable and reasonable standing bar, Vampire is the sacred place. Bring your 2,000 yen, you’ll be able to drink enough to get stoned… for sure.

Hi, it’s “Drunk Uncle”!

Today I went to “Tachinomi Vampire” in Musashikoyama on my way home from work.

I lived nearby about 10 years ago, so I’m familiar with this area. One of Japan’s three major so-called “Musako” (Musashi-Koyama, Musashi-Kosugi, Musashi-Koganei). With the wave of redevelopment, the area in front of the station has completely transformed into a nice and charming town, but somehow the old-fashioned shopping streets and back alley bars still remain.
The shopping street stretches approximately 800 meters from the station to Nakahara Kaido, and is said to be the longest arcade shopping street in Tokyo.
Just beyond Nakahara Kaido is the famous Togoshi Ginza shopping district, and this area is full of shopping streets, making it an endless loop of walking around town and drinking alcohol.

Today, I’m going to a “Vampire” that I visited several times 10 years ago for my “0th party”, pre-party. Is the sake you drink while immersing yourself in nostalgia sweet or super dry? Let’s roll.

This “Vampire” has an entrance at the back, which makes me happy as a Drunk Uncle who likes the back side of things these days. So I go in from the back door. The back entrance has a U-shaped counter with standing seating, so local gentlemen also come in and out from here. The front entrance has tables with standing seats, and those seats are not yet occupied today. There seems to be seating on the second floor, but of course I’ve never been there. I’m a little concerned.

When you enter the store, you will be led to the U-shaped counter inside the store, which is the same as before. It’s around 6:30 pm on a weekday night, but the U-shaped counter is mostly filled with local gentlemen. While looking at the menu on the wall, I also looked at the menu in my hand.

I ordered a white hoppy set for now. Choose your appetizers while you wait.
When you need a drinks, just tell the staff verbally, and if you eat some foods by writing them on a piece of paper.

つまみメニューが多すぎて悩み、その間にホッピーが到着。

Today, I scribbled down 130 yen for fried horse mackerel, 190 yen for natto omelet, and 220 yen for meat shumai and handed them to the clerk.
As soon as I handed it over, I started drinking Hoppy… Well, good as always. Thank you very much, Hoppy Beverage Co., Ltd.
I realized later that there was actually a barrel of hoppy, which is rarely found. I thought to myself that I would prefer the regular returnable Hoppy, but I felt a little frustrated (I’ll definitely drink it next time).

A variety of dishes will be delivered. I feel like I ordered something similar 10 years ago. Starting lineups, as always.
It also goes very well with hoppy. Shumai is also delicious with the ponzu sauce provided (recommended). Next, I asked for extra shochu(naka).

At this point, the time for the next party was approaching, and I couldn’t finish drinking Hoppy and left the restaurant.
Since I didn’t have much time to immerse myself in nostalgia, I didn’t get too drunk and walked around the city in a staggered manner.

I was an old man who realized that I definitely can’t drink as much as I did 10 years ago (though I’ll still drink from now on).
