Undercover to investigate Yokogawa, a deep town in Hiroshima.
There are a few lively bars, so it’s nice to get drunk and have fun.
Thank goodness for “Sharikin Hoppy”…
Hi, it’s “Drunk Uncle”!
Today I went to “Nice☆Yukari” in Hiroshima on my way home from work.
Yokogaawa Station is two stops from Hiroshima Station on the JR line, and there are many bars, including standing bars under the elevated tracks. Shall I take a stroll around Yokokawa Hondori Street as usual?

Says “Yokogawa Kanpai! Kingdom”, it sounds good. There are various izakayas, standing bars, senbero, and kakuuchi bars in the Yokogawa area, so it’s worth digging around. Among the many bars, should I try “Nice☆Yukari”, which is open from early in the morning?

As expected, checked out the exterior. Baby wipes…how cool.
The lanterns and the signage outside are fine. According to my source, they serve Hoppy, so I came here.
I couldn’t see inside the bar, so I didn’t know what kind of customers would be there, but I’m sure I’ll pop in…

The inside of the store looks like this. There are already a few female customers and local old men there. Since I’m at the bottom of the caste system in the store, I sit at the counter at the very front.
Apparently this is a filming location for the movie “KY Rock!”. I’ll check it out sometime. Oh, Otsuka Nene-chan, a Japanese actree is in it, and I wonder if she plays the owner of this place (sorry, I haven’t seen it yet). Wanting to catch Nene-chan’s lingering scent, I took a deep breath to the rhythm of the newly learned “hihi-fu”… But what I felt wasn’t Nene’s lingering scent, but the secondhand smoke of a newly learned cigarette… *Smoking is permitted in this shop.
Anyway, enough of that nonsense, let’s start by looking at the menu of adult drinks.

I’ve already decided on what to drink, but I’ll check it out anyway. There are a lot of options. I like how they recommended Kinmiya, the shochu. It seems to be written in Hiroshima City’s ordinances, so as a Drunk Uncle who follows the law, the only thing I can drink here is “Shiro Hoppy”…right?

Hoppy is the “Hoppy 330” for retail stores, which I explained in Tokeisou, right? There is a reason for it. I’ve said it many times before, but the taste is the same as the commercial version, and if you think one is better than the other, that’s an illusion, so quit drinking right now.
And the shochu… “Sharikin”… I never thought I’d see it here in Hiroshima. Let me explain, “Sharikin” is the “shari-shari” “Kinmiya”, meaning Kinmiya shochu frozen into a sorbet-like consistency. Note that although it’s the same cold type of hoppy, it’s different from “Sanrei Hoppy”, which is a style where the Hoppy, shochu and mug are ice-cold, with no ice added.
Listening to pointless trivia and lectures isn’t going to go well with alcohol, right? Gulp! Let’s have a Hoppy…

For Tsumami, or Mami-Tsu, there are food staples on the menu in front of me, which match the yellow menu posted on the wall. And then there’s the blackboard. It seems like things change here every day.
Among those, I’d choose “Today’s Macaroni Salad” and “Sliced New Onions.” Onions are said to have a blood-thinning effect, so I’ll have some.
Before Mamitsu arrived, I watched the inside of the store. There didn’t seem to be any strange objects or spiritual messages. One thing I’d like to point out is that “KY Rock” seems to have finished screening, so even if they say “Buy a ticket in advance, baby!!”, you can’t buy one now…? That’s about it. It’s a nice opening line, so I’ll leave it at that.
Gulp! Just as I was thinking this pointless thing, the snacks arrived.

Both were pretty good. They were good, but it’s hard to describe the taste. Gulp! I washed it down with Hoppy.
I was empty, so I ordered another Naka “sharikin”.

Gulp&Gulp! After drinking Hoppy and having various Mamitsu, let’s pay and and leave the bar.
I think I’ll explore the Yokogawa area a bit more until I’m on the verge of euphoria. I’ll think about what to do afterwards while I drink…
