A standing bar where self-pouring shochu is fun
Hi, it’s “Drunk Uncle”!
Today I went to ‘Tachinomi Yomoda’, standing bar in Yurakucho on my way home from work.
The bar is just 1min-walk from Yurakucho Station. The sign says ‘NO.1 reasonable bar in Chiyoda-ku’, let’s see it is true or not.. Since it was a standing job during the day, tachinomi-style was a little tight, but I wanna drink alcohol.
The bar is located under the JR elevated with a unique arch, and there is ‘Yomoda Soba’, soba noodle shop.
The inside of the bar is a little bit narrow, but the feeling of drinking shoulder to shoulder is unique. I like this kind of atmosphere.
Because it is my first visit, I do not know whether it is a cash-on-delivery that is common for standing drinks or should I order it normally. The manager asked ‘Is it the first time?’do you know the system?Some tachinomi-bars are run by stubborn old men who impose strict house rules, but this manager is kind to first-time guest.
It was a Saturday night shop with about 10 people, but the gentlemen are already drunk.
They are doing “all-you-can-drink shochu with soda” for 30 minutes 500 yen.
It might be the first time “self-serve all-you-can-drink standing bar”.They also have a wide variety of syrups, so you can enjoy different flavors.
Here is what I poured myself. The amount of bubbles is a little difficult, but I don’t really care because I just want to get drunk.

Select from the whiteboard. Order the traditional Neapolitan (300 yen), 3-4 types of white fish sashimi (550 yen), and fried eggplant and green pepper (300 yen).
All the dishes were delicious. Because I love Pancho, Japanese famous spagetti restaurant, I’d prefer Neapolitan to be spaghetti instead of penne, but there’s nothing I can do about it.
I tried to order the famous curry menu, but was told that it was already finished. A little disappointing.
The manager asked me whether to extend the time or not, but there will be no extension today.
It takes less than 30 minutes to finish drinking, so standing customers should go straight home after finishing their drink.
I tried to drink as much as I could in 30 minutes, and in the end, I don’t remember how many cups of Chu-Hi he drank. I should have count
They also have a raffle menu and tartar dishes (my favorite), so I’d like to try those next time.
There was no lie in the declaration of ‘NO.1 reasonable bar in Chiyoda-ku’.
